About

Urban Eidos was founded in 2023 as a research journal that aims to follow its own path as a proud part of the non-profit Ideal Spaces Foundation.

In this endeavor, Urban Eidos seeks to strike an interdisciplinary balance between science, architecture, and art. Consequently, we welcome not only scholarly articles, but also accounts from artistic or architectural practice, ethnographic (self-)reports, video and photography submissions, as well as cross-media experiments, online exhibitions etc. We strongly believe that scholarly communication should not be confined to traditional articles but should leverage the full range of contemporary media toolsets.

Open Access Policy

Science should always be accessible to the general public, and not be secluded within an ivory tower. To this end, we are committed to a resolute Open Access policy for this journal: All contributions to Urban Eidos are licensed under Creative Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0) and are available for free download.

No Article Process charges

Consciously, we also forego charging fees to our authors/artists: Urban Eidos serves as a voice for all those engaged in artistic and scholarly work, regardless of their background, seniority or income level. Hence, submission and publication in Urban Eidos is and will always remain free of charge.
