Submitting to Urban Eidos

  1. Scope and Aim: Urban Eidos is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal committed to fostering rigorous scholarly research and creative works. We welcome submissions from a wide range of academic disciplines and artistic fields, including but not limited to, humanities, sciences, arts, and social sciences.
  2. Submission Types: We accept various types of contributions including research articles, review articles, short communications, case studies, artistic works, and visual essays. Please ensure that your submission fits within one of these categories.
  3. Originality: All submissions must be original and not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. The author(s) must ensure the authenticity of the work and properly cite any referenced material.
  4. Language: All submissions must be in English. Ensure that your manuscript is grammatically correct and free from spelling errors. Manuscripts should be clear, concise, and logically structured.
  5. Format: Manuscripts should be submitted as a Microsoft Word DOC or as a LaTeX generated PDF. Text should be normal spaced, using a 11-point font, and pages should be numbered consecutively. Please use our Word-template that you can download at the bottom of this page.
    • Research articles and review articles should not exceed 8,000 words, excluding references.
    • Short communications and case studies should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words, excluding references.
    • Artistic works and visual essays should include a 500-word descriptive or explanatory text alongside the artistic content.
  6. Abstract and Keywords: All submissions (except artistic works and visual essays) must include an abstract of no more than 1,500 characters (including blanks and punctuation) and a list of 4-6 keywords.
  7. Images and Artworks: Images and artworks can be submitted as separate files in .jpg or .png format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Ensure you have the necessary rights to use any images or artworks included in your submission.
  8. References: Follow a consistent citation style throughout your manuscript. Ensure that all referenced works are cited in the text and included in the reference list. We prefer footnote citations in the style of ‘Doe 2007, pp. 18–19.’ with a bibliography in APA Style.
  9. Authorship: Clearly state the name(s) of the author(s), their affiliations, and contact information. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  10. Ethics: Research involving human participants or animals must have been conducted in accordance with ethical standards, and where applicable, must have received institutional review board approval.
  11. Peer Review: All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer review process, ensuring the quality and relevance of published works.
  12. Open Access: Urban Eidos is an open access journal, meaning that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. By submitting to Urban Eidos you declare that you agree that your submissions will be licensed under the terms of Creative Commons CC BY-SA 4.0
  13. No Submission and Publication Fees: Urban Eidos does not charge any submission or publication fees, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede the dissemination of knowledge and creative works.
  14. Publication Ethics: Authors are expected to adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics. Any cases of plagiarism, data falsification, or other unethical conduct will lead to rejection of the manuscript.
  15. Submission Process: Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s submission adress. Please attach all neccessary documents to an email and send it to submission (ät) urban-eidos.com (the size of the mail should not exceed 5MB. If your contribution consists of larger media files, such as movies, high resolution images or interactive applications please contact the editors before submitting under the address: mail (ät) urban-eidos.com
